I am grieving over my very-much-alive husband, John, and the love I once thought we’d shared. With secrets uncovered, vows broken, and lies mounting, I realize the man I’d trusted; my home, my safe place, my everything - never really existed.

As I secretly document the state of our marriage and the trauma I am experiencing, I yearn for one thing - to escape and break the twisted bond that chains me to John. To survive, I put my life on the line, cloak my face in a disguise of my own, and cautiously begin using my personal journal entries to write a memoir while he is at work. Every word, every page, empowering me with strength and courage, because I see that my story is not over - it’s just beginning.
